Authentic Stained Glass For Colorado Springs Historic Neighborhoods
When it comes to choosing the right style of stained glass for a home or business, many clients would like the style that works best with the period of their home or office. In Colorado Springs, there are many older, historic neighborhoods mixed with new housing that sprawls out from the city center.
This is why we send one of our designers right to the home, so that they can see the style, period, and architecture of it. Many Colorado Springs older historic homes were originally built with stained glass windows in the hallway, the front of the house, or even on either side of a fireplace, but a lot of these antique windows have been either damaged or lost. If clients want to replace these lost windows with new stained glass that keeps the character of the home, we can advise them on the right styles.
Here are some examples of Colorado Springs stained glass styles that would have been found in the following neighborhoods:
Custom Colorado Springs Stained Glass for Old North End Homes
North of the city center lies the historic neighborhood known as the Old North End. Its construction was fueled by the nearby Cripple Creek gold strike in the last decade of the nineteenth century. Because of the bounty of this newfound gold and the proximity of Colorado Springs to the gold fields, Colorado Springs became the center of financial and supply activity for the Cripple Creek gold bonanza. People poured into the area and the result was a large number of two and three story Victorian homes were constructed in this area.
If they had original stained glass windows, they might have been in the Art Nouveau style, which was popular during that era. The flowing lines of Art Nouveau stained glass work perfectly with the lines and architecture of a Victorian home.
Custom Colorado Springs Stained Glass for Central Colorado Springs Homes
The center of the city contains some of the oldest homes. Many of them predate even the Victorian dwellings in the Old North End, and although the city continued building, these earliest homes range from small cottages to modest Victorians. The Antique style of stained glass might have been found in these homes.

Custom Colorado Springs Stained Glass for the Southwest/Broadmoor Neighborhood
Old money mixed with new in during the construction of Colorado Springs’ most prestigious neighborhood, which houses the famed Broadmoor hotel and resort. Built during the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, these gorgeous old mansions would likely have had Art Deco stained glass, classic Tiffany stained glass, and perhaps even stained glass inspired by design and architectural giant of that era, Frank Lloyd Wright. His style is sometimes called the Mission Style, which was also widely popular during those decades.
